Friend of Health Science Award 
(Non-WI HSEA member)

Description & Eligibility
The Friend of Health Science Award is presented to a person, organization, or business whose involvement aligns with the mission and goals of the Wisconsin Health Science Educators Association (WI HSEA).

​

The award honors extraordinary contributions in:

  • Leadership

  • Collaboration

  • Support of Health Science programs

  • Advancement of Health Science education

 

Eligibility:

  • Nominee must be a non-member of WI HSEA.

  • Nominee must agree to make an appearance at the WI HSEA Annual Conference to receive the award.

  • Recognition details will be coordinated by the WI HSEA leadership team and the award winner.

Health Science Educator of the Year Award 

(Over 5 years teaching experience &

WI HSEA member)

Do you know a passionate and dedicated Health Science teacher who’s making a real difference in students' lives? The Health Science Educator of the Year award honors a Wisconsin HSEA member with five or more years of teaching experience who goes above and beyond to inspire students, strengthen Health Science programs, and lead with innovation.

 

This could be a teacher who:

  • Builds strong partnerships with healthcare professionals

  • Creates hands-on, engaging learning opportunities

  • Advocates for their program at the school or district level

  • Mentors new teachers or student leaders

  • Brings fresh ideas and energy to the classroom
     

Eligibility:

  • Nominees must hold a valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license appropriate to teach health science courses.

  • Must have five (5) or more years of service in the field.

  • Must be a member of WI HSEA.

  • Recipients may only receive this award once.

Health Science Emerging Educator Award

(Under 5 years teaching experience & 

WI HSEA member)

Shine a Light on a Rising Star — Nominate an Emerging Health Science Educator!

Do you know a new Health Science teacher who’s already making a big impact? The Health Science Emerging Educator Award celebrates early-career educators—those with fewer than five years of teaching experience—who bring energy, creativity, and promise to the field of Health Science education.

 

These are the rising stars who:

  • Bring fresh ideas and innovative teaching strategies to the classroom

  • Build strong connections with students and the school community

  • Show leadership potential and a commitment to professional growth

  • Advocate for Health Science education, even in their early years

  • Jump in to support school, district, or WI HSEA initiatives
     

Eligibility:

 

  • Nominees must hold a valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license appropriate to teach health science courses.

  • Must have completed less than five (5) years of service in the field.

  • Must be a member of WI HSEA.

  • Recipients may only receive this award once.
